cfbevaluator the damage control on the message boards this last summer was obnoxious. I root for the Bears especially the kids, but watching people thinking one or two key players were going to turn the program around was silly. A sad state of football we live in.

I think it'll take a 7-5 or better season at this point to save his job. Maybe maybe 6-6 if we beat the likes of Tarleton.

The whole thing is disappointing. Nathan can coach but it seems like he has struggled to find a QB. Ken was far and away a better OC than what we have been watching. All our problems are at QB and OC. This guy is a high school OC. He has no experience and can’t coach at all. It’s embarrassing. He’s the same guy who brought in Luther last year that quit on the team when he didn’t get his way and got benched. Until we start acting like a D1 school and evaluating players and having real competition it will not change. This making guys the next guy because of where they live or who they are won’t work. We also need a real OC that has real college experience. We are running a high school offense it’s embarrassing.

jdp1205 100% but Nathan isn’t a D1 caliber HC in this era either. He hires his friends and they recruit the left overs of players. Preparations is poor and the kids lack discipline. Not to mention Brown is too old school to have a personnel department like every program now in the FCS/FBS.

It’s the same blame game every year—just with new scapegoats. Two years ago it was Colums. Last year it was “if we only had a dual-threat quarterback.”
Omolo is a solid QB, but look at what we’re asking him to do. None of the quarterbacks on this roster are going to succeed in this system. It’s the same story as last year. He’s been thrown to the wolves.
I’m not buying the idea that we just haven’t found the “right” quarterback because we are giving preferential treatment. Mcelvain was 500 or less than in 2 of his 3 years and he was a “freshman all American”. His team was absolutely stacked with players like “Walker, Powell, Goldday, Wilson and Hale.” None of which we have replaced.
We have a second-half adjustment problem among many other things. We had it last year, and we still have it now. The new OC will be the scapegoat, but from what I understand he isn’t as in control as many want you to believe.

Bottom line they need

U-C-A-BEAR I would say Ken wasn’t perfect but he did know the game and was a college head coach. The guy we have now was at Lipscomb High School and not the even the head or OC there. It’s a joke. The guys we brought in reflect his knowledge of what good is. If your kid plays on an 8-man football team and they go undefeated you start thinking man we have great players. The reality is no you don’t. The quality of players at the QB position is the problem Will included. He could throw the ball but he wasn’t the same guy after the freshman year. Last year one qb could run the other could but wouldn’t. Now we have one that can run and that’s it. We don’t have a D1 QB on the team change that and the W’s will come.
