Well said…it’s not that you get beat at home by a better team. It’s the simple truth that you get obliterated by 46 points and could have easily been worse. TSU’s coach had to know how embarrassing this was for UCA and had the class to run the ball on every down. Even then the defense couldn’t stop them.

Not sure as to where the program is headed, but it seems to be and has been a downward spiral for the past few years. The once proud program is no more.

I’m sure we will get a sugar coated explanation at Bear Backers today and tonight on the Coaches show.

Sacramento State has to be licking their chops waiting for their next game.

Gready A bit of a straw man argument there as I didn’t link the music to the on field product but instead to the overall experience. We go to several college football games outside of UCA each year and there’s a noticeable difference in how it’s used.

We left at half. the band played maybe 3 or 4 times. the rest was game was drowned out by music. that’s unique to UCA

woosterbear No strawman argument. You brought it up so I addressed it for clarity in that the music had ZERO to do with performance as you literally started out you statement referencing performance. And I understand that you personally may not like hip hop at games but it was used exactly as it is at other games. If your experience is different, I’d say be intentional in listening for it at more games. I watch A LOT of football (D1 FBS and FCS) and it’s 100% apart of games the exact way it was during the Tarleton game. As it has been for every UCA game for a number of years. It’s been the football stadium culture for quite a while now almost everywhere.

I really do think you’re just not use to it because you haven’t heard it at whatever other games you attend that you referenced. Maybe just maybe the timing of the music being played wasn’t as spot on so that was noticeable to you. That I can concede to. But it’s definitely part of the norm.

All that said, hip hop music is the least of our worries for the Bears. Hopefully we can get back on track at Sac St. Go Bears!!!

I already said my post was a reflection of the football program as a whole, but continue to double down on a point that is obvious.

woosterbear Don’t be discouraged. This site is a good one for FANS of UCA sports to cheer and support UCA sports. Sometimes that comes with FANS having differing opinions. As it looks like you’re new to this site, stay tuned and have an open mind. Lots of strong opinions in here (mine included) but most everyone seems to know how to be mostly respectful even when others disagree with their position or assessment of whatever topic. I’m truly glad to see you migrated here. We need more UCA FANS active in talking about and supporting UCA sports. As someone who has supported UCA sports as a former football player, alum, and/or purple circle member for 25 years, I bleed purple. However you come to have an interest in UCA athletics, I welcome you. GO BEARS!!!!

Gready Amen to this. I think you can be fans of both, but why not more directly support your Alma Mater or local team. Let the Walmarts and Tysons help the hogs, support the team that could actually use it.

Why on earth would I offer ANY support to a school who did nothing for me; in particular any $$$ I might give to them should go to UCA.

Oh ok that’s a good idea…no Walmarts in Conway. No Sams Club. Only Razorback fans buy from Walmart. They donate mega millions to the hogs. They are multi billion dollar company that was created in Arkansas. Sam Walton received venture capital from all over the state to get it started. They can support gay pride without any issues. They choose not to support UCA.

Face it, Arkansas has had a strangled hold on the states athletic support since Frank Broyles. We all know it’s the “States Team” and it’s ok to cheer for them and UCA or any other state team. Well at the risk of blasphemy, I call BS on that. Does anyone believe Texas ever roots for Texas A&M? North Dakota State pulling for North Dakota? Why are we different? To change things our alumni needs to put the Bears #1 on their team list. Go to Bear games, support the Bears with donations, watch the Bears on ESPN+ and wear Bear Gear and be a fan, even when it tough. Yes, there’s nothing wrong with telling Walmart, Tyson, Hunt etc to spread their advertising dollars around.

Most importantly, if you have a degree from UCA …………..Be a Bear!
