Didn’t watch the game, but Wednesday will be an interesting matchup with Little Rock. A couple of their top guards are out for the season, so they are very thin at guard, but they have lots of length and post players. UCAs strength is their guards, but not as much of a post presence currently. Will be a great matchup and big non-con game Wednesday night. Bears currently favored by 1 at home.

Will be key to get Marable back, I think he just has an ankle tweak. Bears have to make free throws. Has been their Achilles heal so far this year on the road.

We sure missed Marable tonight, to many dunks by our opponents that he could have prevented. I don’t think that I’ve ever seen a team shoot 5 0ut of 15 from the free throw line and win. We make our free throws and we win the game. I really think that teams need to shoot at least 70% from the line to have a good chance to win. Coach has put together a pretty good team and just think how good they could be if the 3 starters that transferred were still here ! That team would play for a conference championship. Hope Marable gets back soon, he was just starting to show improvement in his game. Hopefully he will be back when conference play starts. GO BEARS !

UCA favored by 11.5, KenPom projects 87-77 UCA. Hopefully we get the win and move to 4-2 in conference today.

Bears dominate North Florida 98-69! Cam led everyone with 26 points.

Biggest margin of victory since we’ve joined the ASUN, and largest since 2016. And that’s with them having a 9-0 run to end the game. Great to see Lee and Applegate have good games. We’ll need that depth. This team is playing like they believe they can win the conference, and definitely the best team we’ve had since 2018. Coach Schulman is building a program.

Charlie76 My wife and I almost came out as part of her birthday weekend celebration. Last minute decision not to because we had plans for a few other things Saturday already. We’ll definitely get to game or two before the season ends. I did watch the game though. They way we were playing I could have just turned it off at halftime. Great blow out win for sure.

Ya know, I was thinking in that. Did you know that UCA Athletics has an app? I was thinking they could leverage that by doing some sort of rewards thing based on attending games or supporting the teams, either as individual purchases or season ticket holder. Like say attend 3 games in any sport and you get a free concessions item or something. Attend 5 and get a free extra ticket to bring a friend or t shirt or something. Rewards programs are a big hit in other businesses, and it can help create a positive feedback loop. The basketball program is strong, and it would be a good time to introduce something like that. You could use the app to facilitate, and track points/rewards progress. Could be a fun thing, and provide a little extra incentive for fans and students.

Interesting projections. From Jthomanalytics.com (free), UCA has a 68% percent chance of finishing in the top 4 of the conference, and no less than 9th. This years Men’s team is certainly the best we’ve had in a while. 4% chance to finish 1st. Queens, Austin Peay, and Lipscomb are the favorites right now to finish 1st at 47%, 25%, and 24% respectively.
