JUCO DECISION AFFECTS UCA FOOTBALL

With the ruling that came down, JUCO players can now get an extra year of eligibility. That means Trejan Bridges could come back for another year. He's one of the best WR's we've had at UCA in several years (which includes L. Winningham and T. Hudson). I hope he comes back to us versus transferring up to FBS. I can see really good things happening with Coach Brown taking over the offense and Austin Myers taking over the reigns at QB.

We can hope, but with the portal and NIL, it’s impossible for any team - much less an FCS team - to feel good about your roster until after the spring transfer portal closes. That comment isn’t about Bridges, but the state of the college football world more broadly.

Fair. However, the portal giveth and taketh. I'm hoping he (Bridges) feels a little but of loyalty to UCA seeing how we gave him a chance after all the mess that happened at OU. But if he or others decide to go elsewhere for what they see as greener pastures, I can't and won't blame them one bit. It's definitely all about doing what's best for them, playing career, and family.

I hate to see Kam go. I really hope Bridges stays. I think this team will struggle the first couple of games after losing so many seniors, but I think folks are going to be surprised as kids settle into their new roles.

Well it looks like we traded a Kam for a Kam. Hated to see the one we had go but I understand that he had to make the decision that he can best live with. From what I can find online about what UCA is retaining and bringing in, I think we’ll have the potential to win at least 8 games. UCA looks to be bringing in bigger WRs that I think Coach Brown wants to fit more into his offensive scheme seeing how he’s taking over as Offensive Coordinator. Plus we got a lot of underclassman who have patiently waited their turn. I think that’ll help offset having loss so many seniors.

I’m excited about the potential for this team. The O line I believe is still very much intact. I know it’s January, but I’m already thinking about a possible road trip to Missouri.

With Nathan at the helm on offense, I’m thinking UCA will live up to the potential/hype this coming season. And the wife and I will most definitely be at the Missouri game.
