New UCA Arena-Basketball and Possibly Volleyball

I don’t see any world in which the BOT approves a basketball-only facility. Multi-purpose facilities are more efficient financially, and I just don’t see UCA having the means to build multiple new facilities without really sacrificing quality

As long as UCA builds a venue that is similar to other BB facilities in the conference, I think we’ll be fine. However, I’m afraid we will likely be going from one of the largest seating capacities in the conference to one of the smallest when we build the new one.

Whatever it will be, hopefully the Board will have the foresight to keep us competitive with the rest of the league.

I feel good about this upcoming season though and building some momentum.

Something tells me that it’s going to take with possibly the City of Conway/Faulkner County on getting some additional funding to get this thing built. Could we see this more of a “city” arena on the campus of UCA? If it’s UCA and UCA only type events, then I have to think it’s not going to be as nice as it could be.

Regardless, I’m guessing it’s not getting built anytime soon and the saving process will take many years.

Mulerider folks you get what you pay for generally and we (UCA) are doing a pretty pathetic job of supporting out teams both in term of attendance and, for darn sure, cold hard cash!!! Don’t see it changing: prove me wrong!

I honestly hope it doesn’t come to that, but if that’s what it takes then so be it. It was my understanding that there are major issues with the Farris Center that weren’t going to be fixed due to the cost and that’s why we are looking to build a new facility. However, I’m not sure if plans changed because funds weren’t coming in or what, but if the issues in the Farris haven’t been fixed, where will we be playing our games this season?!

Mulerider well because every one of them is still the same from the D2 days. At least there’s finally an improvement on the way.
