Gready JoshUCA Most definitely a new landscape to adjust to by ALL involved parties. From players to coaches to boosters to Athletic Directors.
MountainBear Back for hanging more banners: -Ty -Cole -Luke -Mal -Harry Graduated (slim shot at eligibility) -Cam (retire his jersey) Portal (who knows, back or gone) -JGK -Byrne -Lee Possible back (unconfirmed) -Newton -Marshall Committed -Bead -Templeton
Charlie76 The kids are strictly in it for the $$$$. I don’t blame them, make as much as you can while it lasts. It’s not about the name on the front of the jersey…it’s about the name on the back of the jersey. If can play, make all you can and don’t worry about anything else. Money talks and nothing else matters
MountainBear Charlie76 We get an amazing core back, with really only JGK being a starter type player leaving. I’m pretty stoked. If he had lost a more guys I might feel that way, but I think these guys are bought in.
MountainBear Nice add! We’ve definitely established a positive precedent for returning Bears and conference Freshman of the Years. A very unique player. 6-9 player who plays at the wing mostly. Coach Brock has a relationship with Tucker and I’m sure knows where he’ll be able to be back at his best.
MountainBear His highlights. He reminds me of a more 3 pt oriented Elias Cato. Uses his length in the post sometimes on drives and post ups. [
Gready With RJ Young committing along with his Bryant teammate Camarion Bead, that means UCAs getting two of the top 5 instate players for the class of 2026. Arkansas only landed 1 (JJ Andrews). While two are going out of state to Missouri (Aidan Chronister) and Nebraska (Jacob Lanier). That’s more than good news for UCA basketball.
1968graduate Tucker Anderson came to UCA as a 6′9′ 190 pound wing. At UCA under Coach Boone he mainly shot 3 pointers and free throws. He comes back a 6′9″ 230 probably forward for Coach Shulman. He will be expected to play tough defense and rebound , something he did’nt have to do for Coach Boone. He will be required to play team ball for Shulman and not hero ball. I think he has what it takes to be a good player for us and I hope hecan adjust to Schulman’s intense competitive style of play. I guess he made some NIL money but did’nt play that much especially last season. Glad he decided he wanted to play more and make less money so he came home. I hope he can contribute two thirds as much as Cam did when he decided to come home. GO BEARS !
Charlie76 Just saw in 247 sports where Chris Beard at Ole Miss had offered RJ Young. I know that they have deep pockets…so I’m curious as to how we got him to commit to us.
Gready Charlie76 Because it’s a myth that these young men are all chasing money because of NIL. Most just wanna have a shot at actual playing time. That way they can have film for scouts to look at. Especially if they’re good enough to be looked at as draft potential or semi-pro ball after their college careers are over. Because in Young’s case I seriously doubt we out bid what Ole Miss could have provided in $. However, I’m glad he’s coming to UCA.
