Mulerider Double dipping? Not in the least. They were actually being financially exploited/abused before NIL was a thing. NIL laws now just allow student-athletes to make money off of their own personal brand which unjustly was previously considered a violation by the NCAA. But now all the sudden people have a problem with student-athletes making money on their own. And my opinion is it's not about keeping one or the other. For forever and a day non student-athletes on academic scholarships could do as they please in making money without compromising their scholarships. This is simply the system being course corrected so that the NCAA and colleges aren't pimping student-athletes any longer. And I'd be very interested to hear your argument as to how student-athletes making money because of their own skills/abilities and time are "causing a strain on the academic and regular student side". Seriously, how so?
