Hard to say. Southern Utah beat ACU and that SUU game for us went down to the wire. I should say it shouldn’t be a blow out.

This is the final game of the season for us and it’s at home. Seniors want to win, Coach Brown needs to end the season on a good note, and it’s a chance to play spoiler to ACU by beating them so they can’t win the UAC (providing Tarleton wins their game against Austin Peay). When you don’t have much to play for, you gotta find something. ACU is a playoff worthy team currently ranked #17 and beating them would show that we can beat a quality team. If we can play like we give a damn, I’ll take UCA by 17. If we’re ready for the season to be over and that’s how we play, we’ll lose by 25 because ACU definitely needs to make a point to the playoff committee.

I see us stepping up to the challenge. If the weather holds and it ain’t raining or too cold, I predict a 37-20 victory. GO BEARS!!!

Gready I hope the bears can pull out a 1 point win and I will be happy with that. At this point of the season I don’t think the bears are capable of beating anybody by 17 points let alone ACU. They don’t have enough confidence in themselves or their coaches at this point and I think we all can agree this has to be infused in them by the coaching staff. Gready on another post earlier said that NIL is not the problem. The dip in winning the last couple years is more due to lack of quality coaching and not having enough of our good players step up to the plate and preform like they should be doing. Bingo- that is what coaching is all about getting your players to be confident and then carrying it from the practice field to the actual game. While NIL money can definately be a factor, teams with less money can still win on the field with the right coach. I think we all agree that the 2024 team had the most talent of any UCA team ever and I think they had the best team in the UAC that year but didn’t win it because of coaching not NIL. They started off 6-2 and I still say they were 7-1 at that point because in my opinion they won the ASU game. After that start how in the world does that team lose focus and get embarrassed 4 weeks in a row. I loved watching Nathan Brown play as a BEAR he was Mr. Clutch his 4 years here. A great player does not always translate to a good coach. GO BEARS BEAT ACU!

ACU has everything to play for, while the Bears have nothing other than pride to play for. I love my Bears but ACU will win this one easily.

I’m sure Coach Brown will have the team ready to play. This game will be no different than the rest of the season. I expect a solid game plan that will put the team in the best possible position to be successful 🥴

Change the locks on the football offices during the game. His entire resume as a head coach points to one thing. He’s NOT a capable head coach at any level.

How far does the program have to fall before changes are made? This isn’t a recent development. This isn’t a this-year development. Nathan Brown has destroyed this once proud program. UCA should be looking for a new coach by sunrise tomorrow. I’m not sure it’s salvageable at this point.

I love the fact Koger came in. It was fresh legs and a fresh arm. Myers is pretty banged up head to toe from what I understand so let him heal up. Koger is a solid Qb with a Texas state title under his belt. He had a solid game. I’m sure Brown will point to his turnovers as the key to losing. Fact is we were in the game because of Koger.

It’s not a Qb problem. THIS is a second half adjustment problem. Had Myers played the entire season he was on track to have more yards and touchdowns than Mcelvain had in his best season. 6 starts and change Myers had 1600 yards and 13 touchdowns. Offensively we put our Qb’s in bad situations in the second half and expect them to be Houdini. We just don’t make good adjustments. Like mentioned above Abilene was beat by Southern Utah a team we took down to the wire last week at their place. Right now Austin Peay is beating Tarleton in the second half. We led Austin Peay in the 4th qtr and scored more on them than anyone else. If UCA does keep Brown he has to get someone else to help call plays in the second half. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I miss being let down by Colums. This is beyond embarrassing.

While watching the game on ESPN + yesterday I couldn’t help but notice that the announcers were referring to a lot of the ACU roster as FBS transfers. The vast majority were according to them. And it’s easy to see , just like the TSU game , that there is a difference in player makeup. I think they referred to them as “Dudes” . I wonder how they got so many transfers to come to Abilene Tx. The only thing I can figure is $.
