UAC Expansion/UCA’s Future in UAC

Greetings Bear fans! I come in peace.

Curious to get y’all’s take on the current situation with the league. As an outsider looking in, the initial move made sense ( Southland looked really shaken and unstable and the hype around the idea of ASUN/WAC somehow some way making a jump to FBS collectively seemed too good to pass up at the time) but here we are now and it seems apparent the UAC is the CUSA of FCS (way too stretched out and possibly could be losing members in the future).

what’s the hope? Rebuild the UAC with southeastern additions? I would think UCA should be gunning hard to replace Missouri State’s spot in the MVFC.

So many thoughts! I would love to see us go the MVFC, but the problem is that isn’t our primary recruiting area. I’m can’t even keep track of who’s in and who’s out of what conference anymore. I’m going to have to do some more research and see.

It’s going to be tough. Seems like the Southland is doing fine as of now. Only way I see UAC gaining members is if you could pull in a D2 school in the area. The other possible thing would be to have a school or two come from the Big South-OVC.

I would think you’d cut ties with the Utah schools and replace them with two programs based within the geographic footprint with the 7 remaining members (SEMO, UTM) MAYYBBEE promote division II school (I’ve read a lot about Central Oklahoma having ambitions and the facilities to make a jump to FCS). It’s kind of crazy to me Henderson, OBU and Tech have never seemed to have much desire to move up (Reddies and Tigers are very competitive and Tech has solid enrollment numbers and Russellville is a solid college town).

RamblinRedWolf I would love to drop the Utah schools and add Tech back into the mix. I miss that rivalry!

Wherever we go or if we stay with the UAC in whatever configuration, I’m just ready to get back to the playoffs.
