It seems UCA has been talking about the need to replace the aging Farris Center for more than a decade.
And after finally creating an artist’s concept and asking the city to close Bruce St in January in anticipation of construction, they are now saying there’s a funding problem?
Not saying the rumor isn’t true but if it is, someone screwed up big time. Makes no sense to set the plan in motion and then say “Ooh wait.. sorry, we can’t do it now.”
At any rate, maybe a big donor source backed out. Hopefully we’ll hear an update from the university soon.
