jimmyjam No. UCO isn’t that bad. The people claiming that either don’t know football or are just looking to have a reason to further degrade UCA. Should we win by 30, yes. Does winning by less mean the season is doomed, no. Heck, we could somehow lose (I don’t seeing that happen) and that doesn’t mean what folks think it does. Good D2 programs can beat D1 FCS programs just like good D1 FCS program beat D1 FBS schools. It happens. Now if we get out played physically and out smarted coach wise I can see that the rest of the season will definitely be a struggle.

Serious question folks. For those that really think our Bears are the scum of the earth for losing to UWF, by how many points would we need to beat UCO by for you to maybe reconsider thinking we aren’t that bad and maybe just maybe UWF is that good? 30 points? 40 points? 60 points? I personally need to see a 35 point win for me to hold solid in believing that we aren’t doomed just yet to a horrible season.

I know the difference between being competitive and not being competitive. We were an embarrassment last week. If we can’t dominate a D2 school, then how can anyone consider us a serious FCS program

There are D2 schools who would bear us easily.

So, if we win by less than 25 I won’t be happy for sure.

if we lose then we’ll know we have serious problems; which we may already know.

I appreciate your honesty and passion for the program. I hope you can understand my point of view. My position is that we have played way too many games the past 3 or 4 seasons in which we were not competitive. And like a previous post from 75…if we can’t beat this team by 24 or more it’s going to get ugly down the road.

Charlie76 I absolutely understand your point of view. We’ve had some lean years for more than what any of us expect or want. We are united in wanting more out of UCA football. I see our disagreement being in how bad we are now and your assessment of what is to come.

Neither of us are fortune tellers (or at least I’m not) so we can’t say without a doubt how the season will unfold. All we have is our individual opinions. I respect your right to have one even if I disagree with your assessment of UCA football. And you can absolutely feel the same way about mine.

I hope further common ground can be found in that we both want this current football team and future teams to succeed. With Nathan at the helm or without. I appreciate your passion and engagement as well. As long as you can remain respectful, I’ll continue to have discussions with you about all things UCA football. Go Bears!!!

Oh, and how many points would you like to see us win by in order to not see this squad as a total wash? Would by 25 be sufficient?

As of last week , we were ranked 25th in FCS .
If that’s the case then yes we should win this game by 24 or more …after all they are D2 and have fewer scholarships than us. We should be substantially better than them. We should come out and control the game from the opening kick.

I’ve been wrong before, but I really feel like last week wasn’t an unfortunate fluke. Two fumbles on our own side of the field (one in the RZ). Pick six. We came out flat which is on us! But, I do think if you clean a few things up that game is a tight contest in the 4th quarter which I expected to begin with.
