cfbevaluator I think Nathan understands the expectation here at UCA more than most. And if he doesn’t hold to that standard, he should be the first to offer up his job to someone else. I don’t think we’re there yet. And we’ll never be like Hogs. I’ll join the coaching staff or see if I have any eligibility left and personally make sure of that before we ever become like the piggies. And yes, the game is changing. And everyone is adjusting, Nathan and his staff included. So if others can adjust and come up with 7 or 8 win seasons, so can Nathan. If not, I agree that UCA would need to move on from Nathan. Heck, I could make an argument for letting him go less than 24 hours after our last game of the season if we don’t go at least 7-5.
I will add that I know we got the quality of players to compete. This is definitely a coaching and poor scheming issue as far as I’m concerned. Which is all on Nathan’s shoulders to fix. If he can’t then it’s time UCA look for a new head coach. I’m a realist not an optimist. Meaning that just because I want him to succeed that doesn’t mean he will. But that also points to me not being a pessimist. I don’t see the glass as half empty as many do. I see a glass and Nathan can either fill it or not. Filling it is 7-5 or better seasons and no back to back losing seasons. Not filling the glass would be back to back losing seasons and/or inability to produce 7-5 or better seasons more years than not.
That’s my 2 cents.
