Gready From what I saw this past Friday at practice (was more like a scrimmage), I’m a little excited about the on the field product we’ll see this coming season. Defense looked more than effective and the offense looked more open than it has been in a few seasons. Our Conway native Donovyn Omolo looks to be the real deal at QB. I think he outplayed Walker White. But mainly because he broke off some big runs/scrambles. Maybe we’ll play both of them with specific schemed packages tailored to each’s skill set. And looked like mostly first team reps for RB Jalen Washington sprinkled in with former Arkansas/Liberty/Eastern Michigan James Jointer getting some. Landen Chambers was a beast last year but Jalen is looking to pick up the torch and not miss a beat. Anyone else planning to make the Purple-Gray game this coming Saturday
The biggest takeaway for me would be the QB situation if Omolo is really adding that rushing threat, it makes sense he’d stand out in a scrimmage setting, even if it’s just off-script plays. Still, game situations usually show a different side, so it’ll be interesting to see how both QBs look when things tighten up.
