What a weekend for UCA Sports!
The Central Arkansas track and field teams swept the 2026 ASUN Indoor Championships on Saturday, completing the teams’ second title run in a row in dominant fashion as the men’s team won by 83 points and the women won by 36. The Bears finished the Championships with 27 medals, including 11 gold medals.
“Winning a championship isn’t about being perfect – it’s about responding when you’re challenged,” said Central Arkansas head coach, Josey Weaver. “At the beginning of the year, we told our team that the ASUN didn’t belong to us. If we wanted it, we had to go earn it. That’s exactly what they did.”
Weaver was unanimously honored with his second men’s and women’s ASUN Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year award in as many years for his efforts at the helm of both Bears track and field squads.
