One thing that looks pretty encouraging is that they've given up 16 sacks (9 vs SIU, 7 vs Louisville) for a loss of 96 yards. Seems to bode well for David Walker or whoever they decide to not block in order to try to slow down David Walker.
They're also giving up 253 rushing yards per game on 7.2 yards per carry (293 for Louisville, 213 for SIU), so that seems to bode well for ShunD, Darius & so on.
They've got 4 turnovers thus far this season (2 INT, 2 fumbles), Bears have 0 (have fumbled it thrice – but recovered them all), so it would be nice to continue that trend.
If there's one immediate area to be less enthused about, I'd say it's that they have only been penalized 8 times for 60 yards, whereas the Bears have 18 for 147. They were only down 4 to SIU with under 5 minutes left, and sometimes in close ones those mistakes have a way of being amplified, so we're going to hope it's not anything remotely resembling close and that doesn't even have a chance to be a factor.
I've watched zero snaps of their games, but at least on pap… err… Google Chrome it looks like a favorable matchup, and with it being the opener on The Stripes, got a good feeling it'll be a fun day for the home team Saturday.
